Terms of service

1. The Service

1.1. Service Description. YouTube KB is a mobile application that transforms YouTube videos into searchable, AI-powered knowledge bases (the “Service”). The Service fetches YouTube video transcripts and uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries, insights, key points, and other derivative content (“AI-Generated Content”). Any content you add, save, or create through the Service is considered your “User Content.”

1.2. YouTube KB's Ownership. YouTube KB owns the Service, including all software, AI models, algorithms, interfaces, and related technology (collectively the “YouTube KB Materials”). YouTube KB retains all right, title, and interest (including all intellectual property rights) in and to the YouTube KB Materials. No implied licenses are granted under this Agreement, and any rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by YouTube KB.

1.3. User Accounts. To use the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2. Use Restrictions

2.1. Acceptable Use. You agree not to: (a) modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service; (b) use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems; (d) use automated means to access the Service without our permission; (e) interfere with or disrupt the Service; (f) remove or modify any proprietary notices; (g) use the Service to build a competitive product or service; or (h) violate any applicable laws or regulations.

2.2. YouTube API Compliance. The Service uses YouTube's API Services and is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. By using YouTube KB, you also agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube KB's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You acknowledge that YouTube may terminate access to YouTube content for violations of their terms. You can revoke YouTube KB's access to your Google account data at any time via the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

2.3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer. AI-Generated Content is created using third-party artificial intelligence services (Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) and is provided for informational purposes only. AI-generated summaries may contain errors, inaccuracies, hallucinations, or misinterpretations of video content. YouTube KB makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of AI-Generated Content for any purpose. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated information and for how you use such content. Never rely on AI-Generated Content for critical decisions without independent verification of the information.

2.4. Service Availability and Modifications. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of the Service without notice or liability. The Service is provided “as is” and may change as we continue to improve and add features. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

3. User Content and Data

3.1. Your Rights. You retain all ownership rights to your User Content. By using the Service, you grant YouTube KB a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.

3.2. Data Collection and Privacy. We collect and process certain information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to such collection and processing in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

3.3. Data Retention. We will retain your User Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at legal@youtubekb.com.

4. Fees and Payment

4.1. Subscription Plans. YouTube KB offers both free and paid subscription plans. The features available under each plan are described on our pricing page. All fees are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.

4.2. Payment Terms. For paid subscriptions, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis according to your selected billing cycle. Payments are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly stated in this Agreement.

4.3. Changes to Pricing. We may modify our pricing at any time. We will provide you with advance notice of any price changes. Your continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. Term and Termination

5.1. Term. This Agreement begins when you first access the Service and continues until terminated by either party.

5.2. Termination by You. You may terminate this Agreement at any time by deleting your account through the Service settings or by contacting us at legal@youtubekb.com.

5.3. Termination by Us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate this Agreement or for any other reason with notice to you. We may also terminate free accounts at any time.

5.4. Effect of Termination. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. We will delete your User Content within thirty (30) days of termination unless you request earlier deletion or we are required to retain it by law.

6. Warranties and Disclaimers

6.1. Your Warranties. You represent and warrant that: (a) you have the right to use the Service; (b) your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws; and (c) your User Content does not violate any third-party rights.

6.2. Disclaimer. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOUTUBE KB DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOUTUBE KB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM: (A) YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR USE OF YOUR DATA; (C) ANY INTERRUPTION OR CESSATION OF THE SERVICE; OR (D) ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL YOUTUBE KB'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO YOUTUBE KB IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless YouTube KB and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of this Agreement; or (d) your violation of any rights of another party.

9. General Terms

9.1. Changes to Terms. We may modify this Agreement at any time by posting the revised terms on our website. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Agreement.

9.2. Governing Law. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

9.3. Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and YouTube KB regarding the Service and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings.

9.4. Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
