1. Information We Collect

1.1. Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password. This information is required to provide you access to the Service and authenticate your identity.

1.2. Content Data. We collect and store YouTube video URLs that you save to your library, along with any notes, favorites, or other content you create within the Service (“User Content”). We also store AI-generated summaries and insights created from video transcripts.

1.3. Usage Information. We automatically collect certain information about how you use the Service, including: (a) device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers); (b) app usage data (features accessed, videos processed, search queries); (c) performance data (error logs, crash reports); and (d) interaction data (buttons clicked, time spent in app).

1.4. YouTube API Data. When you use the Service to access YouTube videos, we retrieve video metadata and transcripts through YouTube's API Services. This data is subject to the Google Privacy Policy (available at https://policies.google.com/privacy).

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1. To Provide the Service. We use your information to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) fetch YouTube video transcripts; (c) generate AI-powered summaries and insights; (d) enable search and organization of your saved videos; (e) sync your data across devices; and (f) provide customer support.

2.2. To Improve the Service. We analyze usage patterns and feedback to: (a) improve existing features; (b) develop new features; (c) fix bugs and technical issues; (d) optimize performance; and (e) understand user preferences.

2.3. To Communicate With You. We may use your email address to send: (a) service-related notifications (account updates, security alerts); (b) product updates and new features (you may opt out); and (c) responses to your support inquiries.

2.4. For Security and Compliance. We use information to: (a) detect and prevent fraud or abuse; (b) enforce our Terms of Service; (c) comply with legal obligations; and (d) protect the rights and safety of our users.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.2. YouTube API Services Disclosure. YouTube KB's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. 3.3. Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with legal obligations; (b) protect our rights or property; (c) prevent fraud or abuse; or (d) protect user safety.

3.4. Business Transfers. If YouTube KB is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

3.5. No Sale of Personal Data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Data Security

4.1. Security Measures. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including: (a) encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS); (b) encryption of data at rest; (c) secure authentication (OAuth 2.0, hashed passwords); (d) regular security audits and monitoring; and (e) access controls and employee training.

4.2. Limitations. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1. Access and Portability. You may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format by contacting us at legal@youtubekb.com.

5.2. Correction and Deletion. You may update or delete your account information through the Service settings. You may request account deletion by contacting us, and we will delete your data within 30 days unless we are required to retain it by law.

5.3. Opt-Out of Communications. You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any email or by adjusting your notification settings in the app. You cannot opt out of service-related communications.

5.4. Do Not Track. The Service does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. We collect minimal analytics data necessary to operate and improve the Service.

6. International Users

YouTube KB is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@youtubekb.com, and we will delete such information.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect and how it is used; (b) request deletion of your personal information; (c) opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information); and (d) not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. 10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) rectify inaccurate data; (c) request erasure of your data; (d) restrict or object to processing; (e) data portability; and (f) withdraw consent. 11. YouTube API Services and Google Data

YouTube KB uses YouTube API Services to access video transcripts and metadata. By using YouTube KB, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your use of YouTube KB is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service
• Your data is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy
• YouTube KB's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements

11.1. Data Access and Usage. YouTube KB accesses publicly available video transcripts and metadata for videos you explicitly request to be processed. We do not store your Google account credentials. We only access data necessary to provide the Service's core functionality.

11.2. Revoking Access. You can review your Google account permissions and revoke YouTube KB's access to your Google data at any time by visiting the Google security settings page at: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
